When Paul Fischer checked his bank account Friday night, he had a happy surprise. His balance had exploded to $88,888,888,888.88. A very lucky number indeed, and close to $89 billion.

Of course, the balance was a technical error by SunTrust Bank (NYSE: STI - News), which quickly fixed the problem. It also may have occurred in other accounts.

"You say, 'Eighty-eight billion, what can I do with that?'" said Mr. Fischer, who owns a jewelry concessionaire for Florida theme parks. "Maybe a handful of us could have brought down SunTrust Bank."

Mr. Fischer had other ideas as well. Before the problem was fixed, he asked a SunTrust rep if he could move the money to an interest-bearing account until it was reclaimed and donate the interest to charity. Total interest: more than $7.3 million.

The bank said no.

The money was stripped out of his account by Saturday morning.

"It's all gone. I'm poor again," he said. "I was a billionaire for five hours."

This kind of bank error happens frequently. But Mr. Fischer raises an interesting question: What if, for five hours, you truly did have $89 billion?

What would you do with the money? The ground rules are that you would have to give the money back — and whatever you bought or invested with it — after five hours.

The ancestry of Profitable Group started in the early 1980's when the then Prime Minister of the UK, Margaret Thatcher, paid a visit to Singapore. There she saw how the Singaporean Government had built HDB apartments which were then sold to local residents.

She was particularly impressed with the pride of ownership, HDB owners showed and returned to the UK and introduced "The Right To Buy" program, which entitled tenants renting houses from their local councils to buy the property from them.

This was an instant success and many millions of tenants purchased their houses from the local council, however there was one detail that was not so popular. The monies paid by tenants for the houses did not go to the Local Council; instead the monies went to the Central Government Treasury Department and many people warned the Government that this would mean the Local Councils were unable to build new housing stock as they wouldn't have the money to do so.

The advice was ignored and over the following 20 years the number of houses built by Local Councils in the UK steadily declined, until now there is virtually no house building by Local Councils at all. The private sector was expected to build houses according to market demand but there was one problem; finding land that was suitable and getting the Local Councils to grant planning permission to build on that land.
In the same 20 year period, a number of other trends also converged which made the housing shortage turn into a crisis;

· Rising divorce rates (one every 3 minutes!) means two houses are required rather than one.
· Improvements in health care meant that people were living longer.
· Children leaving home and looking for their own apartments and houses at an earlier age.
· The birth rate increased leading to a general rise in the population.
· The European Union which gave all Europeans the right to live and work anywhere in the Community.
· The number of immigrants wishing to enter the UK rose dramatically.

Seeing the housing shortage turn into a crisis was where the Directors of Profitable Group saw an opportunity and a Company was formed in 2004. Success came quickly as astute investors grabbed the chance of buying land that would give them returns far in excess of anything they had seen before.

Singapore became the next office for the company to open. Given that the opportunity was partly inspired by Margaret Thatcher visiting Singapore, it was fitting that Singapore became the Headquarters of the Company.

The Singapore office has seen tremendous growth since its opening and now employs over 100 staff. Another office was opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to service demand there. A Canadian office was opened in Toronto to service the growing demand from North America. Further offices also opened in Jakarta, Indonesia, Kota Kinabalu Malaysia, Bangkok, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam and Manila, Philippines to service the ever growing demands from those countries.

Having established reputation for Strategic Land Investment, the Group then introduced a range of other Strategic Investment Products such as the Planning, Properties, Portals, Protection, People, Privileges, Performers, Products, Paintings and Promotions to complete the Group's mission and vision to be widely recognized as a premier provider of Strategic Global Investment opportunities. Recently additional businesses have been opened in the UK, Dubai, France, Cyprus and Albania.

The Group's infrastructure is centered on the South East Asian region and its complemented by an advertising and branding campaign with the highly popular ESPN which covers the same region.
